  1. Take 1 cup kidney beans (Rajma) soaked overnight, boiled
  2. Prepare 2 tbsp mustard oil
  3. Take 1 bay leaf
  4. Prepare 2 black cardamoms
  5. Make ready 3-4 black peppercorns
  6. Make ready 2-3 cloves
  7. Take 1 cinnamon stick
  8. Take 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  9. Get 2 onion paste
  10. Take 2 tomato paste
  11. Prepare 2 tsp ginger+ garlic paste
  12. Take 2 green chilli paste
  13. Take 1/2 tsp Coriander powder
  14. Take 1 tsp garam masala
  15. Get 1/2 tsp Red chilli powder
  16. Make ready 1/3 tsp turmeric powder
  17. Take to taste Salt
  18. Take as required Water
  19. Take For (chawal):-
  20. Make ready 1 cup rice
  21. Take 2 cups water
  22. Make ready 1 pinch salt

Instructions to make Rajma Chawal - Favourite Lunch:
  1. Wash the rajma and soak in water overnight. Wash it again and pressure cook with 2 cups of water salt and turmeric. Once the rajma is soft remove it from heat, keep aside.
  2. Make a paste of onion tomatoes, ginger, garlic, green chilli keep aside.
  3. In a deep bottomed pan, heat mustard oil, add black cardamoms, bayleaf, cinnamon, clove, peppercorns, cumin seeds saute for few minutes. Add prepared paste saute for 5-6 minutes.
  4. Add Coriander powder, garam masala, red chilli powder, salt to taste, cook till the oil starts leaving the sides of the pan.
  5. Now add boiled Rajma and one cup water mix well, cook covered for 10-12 minutes.
  6. Ready to serve.
  7. For steamed cook Rice:- Wash rice in a running water, Then add large deep bottomed pan with 4-5 cup water in it. Add little salt mix.
  8. Once the rice is soft and double in size, strain the water.
  9. Allow it to air 2-4 minutes. Serve hot with Rajma.
